Residents forge closer ties
NEIGHBOURHOOD watch is more than just a solution to curb
thefts and robberies for residents of USJ. It is also an effective
means of enhancing neighbourliness, said Subang Jaya assemblyman Datuk
Lee Hwa Beng.
He said this after launching the guardhouse built by the USJ23
Neighbourhood Watch pro tem committee recently.
Committee chairman Beh Yong Hock said the residents had been
carrying out neighbourhood watches for two years.
“We employed security guards at the end of 2000 to protect the
neighbourhood day and night.
“The close relationship formed when we were carrying out the
neighbourhood watch benefited the neighbourhood greatly,'' he said.
The residents held a potluck party in conjunction with the opening
of the guardhouse.
