For the
kind attention of
Mr. Jimi Cheng - General Manager
Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd
Dear Jimi
We refer to the directional road signs
indicating USJ23, USJ24, USJ26 and USJ27 put up by MPSJ/Sime UEP in
February 2003 along interchange E1125 (USJ/Subang Jaya).
Your
operation/enforcement section forcibly removed these signs in April 2003
to the great disappointment of all Residents living in USJ23 to USJ27.
We should
like to bring the following events that happened before the signboards
were put up, to your attention:
- That on
the evening of 04/10/2002 a corner house in USJ27 burnt down, because
the Fire Brigade from PJ took almost 1 1/2 hours to find USJ27, they
went instead to SS27 in Shah Alam.

-
That
on the night of 07/01/2003 a fatal accident accident occurred along
Jalan Harmoni near the entrance to USJ26, the rider was killed instantly
but the poor pillion rider was thrown 15 feet and had to suffer in pain
waiting for the ambulance. It took the first ambulance 45 minutes to
arrive and one ambulance even came half an hour after the first left,
all because they did not know where USJ26 was. We had to send the
injured pillion rider in a car to Klang GH.

Whilst we
have approached both our ADUN YB Dato' Lee Hwa Beng and MPSJ to resolve
this problem diplomatically with you, more than 1 month has passed and
we have yet to see any sign of compromise from your organisation.
Repeated
calls to your PR section have been left largely unanswered and the
silliness of the matter is that your PR people continue to insist
that "I come" and take back our "illegal signboards". We should like to
rebuke the fact that these signboards belong to us and that we have
erected them illegally.
We are
writing this email to seek your immediate assistance to rectify the
matter in a positive manner, should this not be possible, we would have
no alternative but to continue to bring this matter higher up the Corporate
ladder.
In the
meantime, whilst we are debating whether Sime UEP/MPSJ were right to put
up the directional signboards on your land, who is going to be held
responsible should similar incidents occur and innocent lives are lost?
Must this really happen before action can be taken? We feel that the
choice is completely out of our hands.
We look forward to your positive
response.
