The Children Playground

May 2004 - Have you been to the Children's Playground lately? Have you seen the new installed Children Play Equipment?

This is how our playground looks like now

It will please you to note that besides the children equipment, there is also a Pro-Builder - Outdoor Fitness System for the adults. This includes a Balance Beam, a Sit-Up Bench and a Horizontal Ladder, so now, you can actually go to the playground even if you do not have any children.

20/04/2004 - Back in the middle of February 2004, we sent an email to all residents indicating that MPSJ councillor, Mr. Yap Yun Fatt had kindly offered the USJ23 Community, a full set of Children Play Equipment for the Children playground located just next to Jalan USJ23/5C. It was suppose to have been commissioned at the end of February 2004, however due to some technicality and the ensuing General elections it was delayed.

Early this morning, the contractors showed up at the playground and started to install the equipment and we understand that it will be completed in 2 days.

If you cannot wait for the pictures, make a trip to the playground and see for yourself.

It took MPSJ more than 3 years to offer us this upgrade of our playground. Most of you will probably remember when our then Subang Jaya ADUN YB Dato' Lee Hwa Beng said that the USJ23 Children Playground will be improved at a cost of not less than RM50,000.00, that was way back in February 2001 during our very first get-together. It has finally materialised.

We are most grateful and on behalf of all the residents especially the little children of USJ23, we should like to Thank MPSJ for their kind consideration. In particular we would like to thank Mr. Yap Yun Fatt, without whose assistance this would not have been possible.

November 2003 - We submitted our request for the repair of our Children Playground in July 2003 to MPSJ through JKP Zon3 (Jawatankuasa Penduduk Zon 3), sometime in August the contractors came to carry out the repairs. Take a look at what the contractors have done.

Take a closer look (click on the pictures taken after the repairs) and see what the MPSJ Class "F" contractor has done? Do you agree that they are no better than before, would you put yourself down on one of these benches? According to the original quotation submitted for our approval, each bench costs RM800.00 to repair, we have 6 in our playground, you do the math.

We have not been asked to acknowledge any of the work done, so do you suppose that the Class 'F' Contractor has been paid? We certainly hope not!

03/03/2003 - Our Chairman, Beh Yong Hock writes a letter to MPSJ requesting for funds to repair and upgrade our playground.

	27/09/2001 - Our Chairman, Yee Foon Kong, hands our request personally to the Office of Yang Berbahagia Dato' Sedik Ahmad of Tenaga Nasional Berhad Distribution in Jalan Timur, Petaling Jaya, including a list containing a total of 168 signatures of Residents of USJ23 and their family. - Read what we wrote. We should like to thank Beh Yong Hock, Mohd. Fauzi Omor and all Committee Members/Row Leaders for collecting the signatures. Most of all to the Residents who put their names to paper. Now we await the generosity of TNB.

	08/09/2001 - A petition, requesting TNB for lighting to be installed at the playground 'free of charge' is with the various row leaders in USJ23, when they come around, put your name to paper and hopefully we will have our Children Playground lighted up for everyone to enjoy.

	Will the Children Playground every be upgraded? 07/07/2001 - USJ 23 residents - Take part in the Children's Playground Survey and be counted.

	18/06/2001 - We have been informed that MPSJ is spending close to RM1m to upgrade Subang Jaya/USJ/Bandar Sunway playgrounds this year. A list had already been identified and planned by MPSJ Landscape Department back in January 2001 - Our playground was not on the list. However, since our ADUN had promised us the upgrade the Landscape Department is working to allocate some budget for our playground. The amount to be made available and when the playground will be upgraded is still unknown at present. Read what some of our Residents think about this.

	21//04/2001 - We have contacted our ADUN Subang Jaya YB Dato' Lee Hwa Beng about the upgrade and he has asked Mr Yap Yun Fatt, an MPSJ councillor to check with the MPSJ Landscape Department on the nature of the RM 50,000.00 work.
