Sharing of Good Practice

18/07/2002 - We start sending out information to our residents that we have received from this International Neighbourhood Watch Group.

27/03/2002 - We have received information from Chris Joyce, Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator for the West Yorkshire Police that the 'Back to Basics' campaign will be officially launched on Sunday 21st April, and the system will go live after that date.

In total about 30 organisations will be using the system to exchange views and experiences in crime prevention around the world.

20/01/2002 - Our presence on the Internet has been noticed by other Neighbourhood Watch Organisations, in particular, the West Yorkshire Community Projects Action Group.

This police led group chaired by Chris Joyce (pictured below), the Force’s Neighbourhood Watch Liaison Officer, has invited us to participate in an International Crime Prevention campaign, which includes Police Forces, N/W Associations and Crime Prevention Groups in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, South Africa and the Bahamas.

Our participation includes the sharing of good Crime Prevention Practices, which will be channeled through a mailbox located at:

nhwuk@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk

We will be able to post questions on the mailbox with regards to crime prevention and hopefully learn from the successes or problems that other groups have encountered.

The project will be an excellent way to exchange information with similar groups from around the world.

The official launch will be in a few weeks time and we shall keep you informed.
