09/06/2002 - A group of residents from USJ23 assembled along USJ23/2 this Sunday morning for the short drive to The Pure Life Society (Homes for Orphans & Underprivileged Children) located at Batu 6, Jalan Puchong.

It was both a Sunday family outing and doing our small part for Charity. Parents who brought their children along saw first hand how orphaned, abandoned and underprivileged children lived.

It was indeed a wonderful experience for the privileged children of USJ23, a wakeup call not to take their sheltered and pampered lives for granted. We congratulate those parents who brought their children along for this eye opening experience.

We were informed by the Administrator, Mr A. Atputharaja, that there was a total of 113 children (100 Indians and 13 Chinese) housed at the home, the older boys are housed in separate quarters, a little further down the road. The daily upkeep which included, food, lodgings and education, amounted to about RM7-8 each.

Residents were given a full tour of the Home after which our Chairman, Yee Foon Kong handed on behalf of the USJ23 Residence, our donation of RM1,500.00 to Mr A. Atputharaja.

We should like to thank all Residents who participated in the Old Newspaper recycle program for Charity during the pass months.
Our monthly Recycle Program will continue and we look forward to your continued support. Maybe the next time we make a donation to Charity you would like to bring your family along for the special experience. - Helping the underprivileged.

If you have yet to do your part it's never too late to start right now
